Senior Auditor in Banking and Financial Services

Responsibilities

• Manage and review audits of financial statements of banks and other financial institutions prepared under IFRS.
• Contribute to the preparation of commercial proposals and engagement pricing.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing banking clients.
• Identify prospective clients in the banking sector.
• Monitor developments in the audit market.
• Identify and resolve risk-related matters.
• Participate in audit engagement planning.
• Manage engagement budgets and track actual costs.
• Hold debrief meetings with the engagement team.
• Submit the audit report to the Engagement Partner/Director.
• Evaluate the performance of Assistants and Supervisors.
• Work closely with Department of Professional Practice specialists.
• Take part in recruitment events and deliver training sessions.

Requirements

• Higher education in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• At least 5–7 years of external audit experience at a Big Four or another audit firm.
• Proven experience managing audit engagements end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS.
• Solid understanding of banking operations and key risk areas.
• Knowledge of Kazakhstan’s banking regulation.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CFA or equivalent.
• Experience in business development.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Fluency in Russian and English.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
